Northwestern College Now Offers a Radiography Program
The Illinois Board of Higher Education and the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools have approved Northwestern College to offer an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Radiologic Technology.
The Radiography Program is also granted programmatic accreditation with the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology, www.jrcert.org, 20 N Wacker Drive, Suite 2850, Chicago, IL 60606-3182, (312) 704-5300.
The program is offered at the Bridgeview campus where up to 30 students may be enrolled during its first year, beginning in the Fall 2009 Quarter.

In addition to the standard admission requirements of Northwestern College, the Radiography Program will also require the following:
- Two years of high school math (algebra, geometry recommended) with a letter grade of "C" or better.
- If high school math requirements are not met: two college level math courses with a letter grade of "C" or better will be required.
- Two years of high school science (biology, chemistry, physics recommended) with a letter grade of "C" or better.
- If high school science requirements are not met: two college level science courses with a letter grade of "C" or better will be required.
- ACT minimum composite test score of 20.
- High school and/or college grade point average of 2.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
- If applicable, High School Equivalency Certificate: General Education Development (GED) Test scores. Total standard score of 2250 or higher. Minimum score of 450 on each test.

College level courses required:
- College level medical terminology course, taken within the last three years with a grade of "C" or better, i.e., HLTH.140 Medical Terminology (Northwestern College).
- College level math course, taken within the last three years with a grade of "C" or better, i.e., MATH.112 College Mathematics (Northwestern College).
- College level English composition course, taken with the last three years with a grade of "C" or better, i.e., ENGL.100 Composition (Northwestern College).
- Active certification in CPR for the health care provider just prior to admission, i.e., HLTH.130 Emergency Procedures (Northwestern College). Completed academic term preceding program enrollment.
