Northwestern College is proud to present our new Career Stimulus Scholarship, worth up to $4,800, to workers who have been unemployed due to company layoffs. The College is committed to helping individuals quickly return to work in career areas where there is growth and demand by providing them with the education and hands-on experience that will qualify them for new opportunities.
Here are some of the basics for the Career Stimulus Scholarship:
• Scholarship applicants must be dislocated from a full-time job from the period of September 1, 2008 to present. Immediate family members such as a spouse or dependent child(ren) of an unemployed individual can also apply for this scholarship.
• Applicants must provide a copy of their current Benefit Payment Stub and Explanation.
• Applicants must be granted admission for a full-time Associate in Applied Science degree program at Northwestern College for the Fall 2009 (September 9th) quarter.
• Recipients will be awarded $2,400 during the first year, and can reapply the second year, regardless if they have found new employment, for an additional $2,400 as long as they are in good standing with the College—a possible total of $4,800.
• Each NC campus will award 25 scholarships; selected by the Scholarship Committee.
